News from
the school day

Hooray - it's planting day!

We, classes 2a and 3c, were able to start our new project "vegetable class" together.

Today was finally the day!
We, the classes 2a and 3c, could start our new project "vegetable class" together.

Together with our teachers Mrs. Görlach and Mrs. Ahnert, we will sow, observe and care for different types of vegetables and herbs in raised beds in the school building throughout the school year. Today, for example, we sowed bush beans, Asian lettuce, dill and parsley.

We work in mixed teams from both classes and have different areas of responsibility, e.g. the soil, water or plant check and are allowed to take care of the raised beds and the plants independently. We learn a lot about the growth and care of the plants, but also about healthy nutrition, sustainability and food waste.

We are already excited to see when the first seedlings will sprout. We document all observations in the check notebook and in the weekly vegetable lesson we talk about our observations, work and puzzle in the student notebook. There is even an online platform.
