Troy" project in class 2a

Why TROJA already in class 2

1. adventure and excitement

The story is full of exciting moments: Heroes, gods, battles, cunning and courage. Children love a good story - and Troy has it all.

2. encouragement of fantasy and imagination

Mythology stimulates the imagination. What did Troy look like? How huge was the horse? Children can draw, write and do handicrafts - ideal for creative learning.

3. introduction to history and culture

Troy offers an introduction to antiquity - a first encounter with the ancient Greeks, their legends and way of life. This creates an early sense of history and time periods.

4. values and ethics

Topics such as:

Courage (Achilles, Hector),

Cunning (Odysseus and the horse),

Disputes and reconciliation (e.g. through the apple of discord) provide an opportunity for discussions about values, actions and decisions - presented in a child-friendly way.

5. language support

Whether through retellings, short plays or their own versions of the story - the children learn to express themselves, to tell and to listen.

6. interdisciplinary learning

Troy can be linked to various subjects:

Art: Make or paint a Trojan horse

German: retelling or poem

Subject knowledge: Ancient world, archaeology (Heinrich Schliemann!)

Music/sport: Dances, games like in ancient times
