Around the world in 3 days? It's possible! From the 5th to the 7th of June 2024, our 3rd graders took part in the annual Language Camp of the International Primary School Glauchau. This school year, we went to the youth hostel in Klingenthal. Together with their English teachers, the children traveled in small groups through different countries.
Our journey started in Africa. The kids learned a lot about African culture and handicrafts. Painting Calabash fruits from Ghana and making African bracelets was a lot of fun. The journey continued to South Korea in Asia. The children dressed up in traditional costumes, wrote their names in Korean, practiced a dance and much more.
Next stop: America! The children explored New York City on an interesting sightseeing tour. There was so much to see! Back in Europe, the king of England invited our 3rd graders to a traditional British tea party with black tea and shortbread.
After all the traveling, the children spent the afternoons together with their class teachers and educators. Playing football, going hiking or playing games in nature - everyone had a lovely time!
