On May 20, 2025, the student council of the IGS visited Mr. Steinhart, the mayor of the city of Glauchau.
The aim of the visit was to find out what duties a mayor has, what democracy means and how a town hall is structured.
Mr. Steinhart warmly welcomed the students and, using a presentation, explained what he is responsible for, who supports him, and how the structures in a city are set up.
The children asked their own questions and showed great interest in all the information.
The meeting room, which we were able to visit afterwards, was impressive and we received additional explanations from Mr. Steinhart.
A look into the mayor's office and a photo on the balcony of the town hall concluded the visit.
The student council took many notes and took the information they received back to the classroom.
