Class 3a went on a great day out to the Museum-Naturalienkabinett Waldenburg. There, the children were able to marvel at an important collection of natural history and curiosities as well as archaeological finds and exhibits from the 18th century. They were particularly taken with the mummy "Shep-en-Hor" and the accompanying X-ray image of the mummy. Some children couldn't and wouldn't believe that a real person was "wrapped up" there and found it a bit creepy that it was now just lying there in the museum. They were drawn to the glass coffin again and again. The children also found the numerous alcohol specimens of snakes, frogs and all kinds of other creatures, including embryos, fascinating and disgusting at the same time. They also marveled at several calves with various deformities. Before heading home on the bus, the children went to the playground at the gondola pond to let off steam after their visit to the museum.
